Dr. Quieti came to AUR after serving for many years as Senior Policy Officer at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).听听 Dr. Quieti worked on education programs and technical assistance on sustainable food and agricultural development policies and programs with governments, academic/research institutions and civic organizations both from industrialized and developing countries.听听 Her career spanned the globe, managing projects in Asia, the Near East, Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. She was responsible for the participation of more than 800 civil society organizations at FAO鈥檚 World Food Summit in Rome in 1996 and听 the training of developing countries鈥 delegates for negotiations on agriculture with the World Trade Organization (WTO).
听
She joined AUR with the objective of establishing graduate-level programs and served as Dean of Graduate Programs and Dean of the University for various periods.
听
For six years prior to joining the University, she has also served as Executive Director of the U.S.-Italy Fulbright Commission where she managed and developed academic programs between Italy and the United States.听
听
Dr. Quieti鈥檚 areas of research and interests include: sustainable food systems and sustainable consumption,听 rural development,听 policy formulation, small-scale investment projects in food and agriculture and building partnerships with civil society organizations.
